I'm delighted to share the news that A CURSE DARK AS GOLD is one of the CYBILS finalists!
In the category of Young Adult Science Fiction and Fantasy, CURSE is joined by
Eoin Colfer's AIRMAN, Jenny Davidson's EXPLOSIONIST, Kristin Cashore's GRACELING, Suzanne Collins's THE HUNGER GAMES, and Lisa McMann's WAKE. My congratulations go out to all the nominees (in this and every other category--particularly my local pal, Katie Speck, for her Easy Reader MAYBELLE GOES TO TEA).
And as if that weren't enough for one day (even a day as full of big promise as New Year's Day), we've also learned that CURSE has been named to the Smithsonian's (yes, *that* Smithsonian!) list of Notable Children's Books. I feel incredibly honored.
Here's wishing all of you lots of incredible honors and amazing experiences in 2009!
